Economic Freedom

In 2008, Malaysia's economy is 64.5 percent free, which makes it the world's 51st freest economy.

Its overall score is essentially unchanged from last year, reflecting worsened scores in three of the 10 economic freedoms.

Malaysia is ranked 8th freest out of 30 countries in the Asia–Pacific region, and its overall score is higher than the regional average.
