The spiritual leader of the opposition PAS, Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz, was urging a merger of his party and the ruling UMNO to defend "the Malay race and Islam" from the political challenge of secular ideologies.
Undoubtedly, there are contradictions and conflicts between PAS and Pakatan Rakyat on certain political ideologies.
I am not surprise with this latest political drama because Malaysia's politicians are always playing on communal politics.
Bi-partisan system is still too far to be materialised.
